Why blog?

Happy Tuesday!

So today's post is a little bit different. Rather than showing you what I've worn (which I love doing) I've decided to write a post about why I write posts in the first place. What is the point of this blog?!

Firstly, I blog because I love it. This might be a reasonably new thing for me - in the blogging world a month is no time at all, it takes years and years and good content for a new blog to become a well known blog. Do I mind that I don't have millions of readers? Not at all. Because primarily I blog because I enjoy it, it's an added bonus when any of you enjoy it too.

If I didn't enjoy blogging I wouldn't rush home from my full time job with my sometimes crazy shifts and put the effort in to write these posts. For me it's a matter of personal growth. I've developed so much more confidence since I started writing every day. I feel as though I take more risks with my personal style, they're not always going to be good risks, but I wouldn't be human if I didn't make mistakes. Being able to reflect on them is what's important. Blogging has also helped me develop a little more body confidence, which is a big thing for me. I've struggled a lot with my body image over the last few years and I still don't feel completely at ease with how I look, but I definitely see myself differently.

So in short, I blog because it makes me happy. I feel as though this is a sort of space for me to be myself, without worrying too much about how I'm perceived. I feel like it's a method of communicating with more people. At the moment that's enough. I'm excited to see where it could lead, I've already worked with a few companies and have some more exciting things in the pipeline.

I hope you all enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it. Feel free to leave me any comments about what you think I should do differently, or what you like about this blog!

Em x

  2. I agree with this so much! I honestly don't care about anything as long as it makes me happy and I get to meet people who share the same passion!
